Our client, Salaam Investment Bank Kenya Ltd is the first Shariah compliant investment bank in Kenya having been licensed by the Capital Markets Authority in November 2018.

They wish to recruit a key pioneer staff (Manager, Corporate Finance & Advisory).

Job Purpose

The role of this position is to establish, develop and grow corporate finance services for SIB clients which include Fundraising, Mergers, Acquisition, and Take-overs among other things.

Principle Account-abilities

  • Establish corporate finance and advisory department, help in recruiting and training of departmental staff (of course in liaison with SIB HRM/CEO) in line with SIB long-term requirements;
  • Establish and update a portfolio of Fundraising initiatives, Mergers, Acquisitions, Take-overs and related products for existing and prospective SIB clients;
  • Market SIB’s Fundraising, Mergers, Acquisition, Take-overs and related services to both existing and prospective clients;
  • Manage a pipeline and database of existing and prospective Fundraising, Mergers, Acquisition, Take-overs and related services clients on behalf of SIB;
  • Train and develop corporate finance and advisory team on emerging issues relating to audit, regulatory and social economic matters;
  • Develop or/and source such tools and materials, including computer software, required in carrying out Fundraising, Mergers, Acquisition, Take-overs and related duties;
  • Develop corporate finance and advisory department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor and evaluate the departmental staff against the KPIs and ensure smooth running of client/department’s mandates and activities;
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Team where he advises on the corporate finance and advisory
    services.

    Person Profile
  • 6-10 years’ experience in corporate finance and advisory services in a financial institution or professional corporate services firm.
  • At least 5 years in a senior position;
  • Certified Accountant with CPA-Kenya or a
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable;
  • A member of ICPAK in good standing will be very much desired;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Business (B.Com, BBA, BBM, Economics and the like);
  • A master’s degree in business or finance will be an added advantage.

    [Professional Qualifications
  • Certified Accountant with CPA-Kenya or a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable;
  • A member of ICPAK in good standing will be very much desired;
