Safaricom Manager - IT Networks Jobs in Kenya; Responsible for managing Safaricom’s network infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, and performance across LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, Internet perimeters, IP Telephony, and Video Conferencing systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold company code of conduct, policies, and procedures with integrity and accountability.

  • Adhere to safety, health, and wellbeing policies in all actions and decisions.

  • Manage and set priorities for LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Internet infrastructure.

  • Oversee Local Area Network within offices and Wide Area Network across branches, retail shops, and care centers.

  • Manage Internet perimeter and associated systems.

  • Operate Cisco Unified Communications and Video Conferencing environments.

  • Monitor trends and manage capacity across network systems.

  • Manage network infrastructure within colocation and data center facilities.

  • Plan, design, install, configure, and maintain network devices.

  • Enforce IS security policies on Extranet and Internet perimeters.

  • Manage secure remote access for staff, partners, and contractors.

  • Provide direction and recommendations to enterprise business units.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Drive CAPEX and NOPEX savings through NGN equipment and latest technologies.

  • Develop team through learning initiatives, mentoring, and coaching.

  • Engage team through feedback, communication, and performance discussions.

  • Drive efficiencies through automation of processes and
    activities.

    Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Computing, Engineering, or related field.

  • Project Management Certification.

  • ITIL Foundations, CCNP, CCIE certifications.

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a dynamic networked environment, with 2 years at management level.

  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco LAN and WAN platforms and Cisco IOS.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and analytical thinking skills.

  • Appreciation of basic accounting knowledge preferred.
