Safal Group Bearing Assembler Jobs in Kenya;We are seeking a Bearing Assembler to support assembly, inspection, and maintenance of rolls and bearing assemblies, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with safety standards in rolling mill operations.
Responsibilities
Bearing Assembly & Roll Preparation
Assemble and disassemble work rolls, backup rolls, chocks, and bearing assemblies in line with approved procedures
Install, align, and prepare bearing assemblies and rolls for rolling mill operations
Operate approved equipment for bearing mounting, dismounting, and roll preparation
Perform shot blasting and roll preparation per established work instructions
Inspection, Maintenance & Equipment Care
Inspect bearings, chocks, seals, and components for wear, damage, or abnormalities
Clean, lubricate, and replace worn or defective components as required
Conduct routine equipment checks and report abnormalities promptly
Support maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and performance
Quality & Process Compliance
Verify assembled components against specifications, tolerances, and quality standards
Use measuring instruments to confirm alignment, fitment, and condition
Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and equipment history records
Identify and report non‑conforming components and quality deviations
Safety, Health, Environment & Compliance
Comply with HSEQ requirements, safe work procedures, and LOTOTO standards
Use prescribed PPE and approved lifting, handling, and workshop practices
Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly
Maintain housekeeping standards in line with 6S requirements
Reporting & Communication
Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and bearing history records
Communicate equipment condition, abnormal findings, and maintenance needs to Mechanical Technician
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Roll Shop teams to support operations
Continuous Improvement
Participate in TPM, Kaizen, and maintenance improvement initiatives
Contribute ideas to improve equipment reliability, quality, and efficiency
Support implementation of approved improvement actions
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Grade I Trade Test in Mechanical
Fitting, Mechanical Engineering Certificate, or equivalent technical qualification
Added Advantage
Hands‑on experience in rolling mill operations
Training in bearing assembly, precision measurements, or mechanical maintenance
Knowledge of 6S and Autonomous Maintenance
Experience with hydraulic presses and bearing installation equipment
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ relevant maintenance experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in bearing assembly, roll preparation, or mechanical fitting
Experience in manufacturing, steel processing, or heavy industrial environment

Bearing assembly, roll preparation, and mechanical fitting skills
Ability to use precision measuring instruments and interpret technical drawings
Inspection, lubrication, and replacement of mechanical components
Knowledge of hydraulic presses, bearing installation, and maintenance techniques
Ability to identify abnormalities and escalate technical concerns appropriately
Safety Competencies
Knowledge of HSEQ requirements, LOTOTO, and safe maintenance practices
Safe use of workshop tools, lifting equipment, and measuring instruments
Awareness of 6S workplace standards and hazard reporting requirements
Behavioural Competencies
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Accountability, reliability, and strong safety awareness
Good communication and teamwork skills
