Sacco Manager, Security & Investigation Jobs in Kenya

Reporting to Head of Human Resources and Administration and CEO, this position is
responsible for provision of complete security and safety for Sacco visitors, personnel,
buildings and other assets.

The incumbent jobholder will implement a holistic and dynamic security provision for the Sacco, advising on all security matters, and covering all areas of risk.

The jobholder will be member of the Security and Business Continuity committees and represent security interests on other committees as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of the Sacco’s security strategy, and the development of
    policies and procedures to support the strategy.
  • Assess security risks and ensure that proportionate measures are in place to
    protect: visitors, staff, buildings, collections, assets and reputation.
  • Ensure that each layer of security is audited and maintained to an appropriate level.
  • Encourage a security culture running throughout the Sacco in all of her
    undertakings.
  • Responsibility for the operational delivery and communication of security
    policy.
  • Ensure that the manned security contract delivers to the best possible standard and
    efficiency.
  • Ensure that all security staff (Sacco and contracted), perform as one team, act in
    synergy and in the best interests of the Sacco
  • Ensure the correct mix of security staff to provide maximum security and efficiency.
  • Ensure that the Security Team provides guidance and assurance to staff and
    develops a reputation for operational excellence.
  • Develops a culture of security awareness and practice throughout the whole of the
    Sacco.
  • Ensures that operational security decisions are correctly recorded and stored, with
    due regard to sensitivity and information security.
  • Responsible for the CCTV equipment’s, their functionality and information stored.
  • Disaster preparedness strategy
  • Develops and implements disaster preparedness policies and procedures to
    support the strategy.
  • Assist the review of Emergency response and business continuity plans and ensure
    that they are current, proportionate and relevant.
  • Ensure that they are accessible to those who need to know.
  • Deliver an Operational Security Team for the Sacco
  • Ensure that professional security staff are positioned and trained to provide
    operational excellence.
  • Align ‘in house’ and ‘out sourced’ staff
    and assets to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure that the operational security team provides the Sacco with improved flexibility to respond to changing demands and capitalize on commercial opportunities.
  • Establish a duty team to lead on operational security issues, direct assets and
    resources to prevent and respond to incidents.
  • Inspire confidence and provide
    reassurance for staff and visitors.
  • Ensure that the team has effective management, communications, resources, training and resilience.
  • Assist the establishment of a single point of contact and an accessible centralized
    system for intelligence and administration, protected by appropriate security and
    support by appropriate resources.
  • Manage the resources of the team in accordance with policy and guidance
  • Ensure effective (front-line) management of contracts:
  • Ensure that contracts for security services and systems are efficiently and
    effectively managed on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure that weaknesses and breaches are reported upwards.
  • Recommend changes to the contracts and delivery of services to provide modern
    innovative services supporting Sacco targets and objectives.
  • Hold regular meetings with the service providers and ensure that reports are
    prepared and submitted to the Head of Human
  • Resources and Administration and
    the CEO during contract review meetings.

    Other responsibilities
  • Performs any other responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

    Candidate should have: -

  • 5 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences.
  • Possession of a master’s degree is an added
    advantage
  • Senior Inspector of Police Grade or equivalent
  • Professional Certification in Security Matter

  • Security
  • Investigation
  • Interrogation skills
