Job Description

  • Identification, formulation, coordination of the preparation of projects and programs related to land husbandry undertakings;

  • Participation in determination of best practices for new and existing irrigation systems with improved water use efficiency;

  • Development of project proposals for erosion control; Provision of advisory services on issues related to irrigation, rehabilitation, protection and development in catchment;

  • Building up the planning and management capacity of water resources stakeholders working in the fields of irrigation and water resource management;

  • Encouraging community on water harvesting best practices for sustainable water resources use;

  • Contribute to compilation, recording and analysis of spatial data related to soil erosion ;

  • Coordination of all land husbandry activities with local authorities and other stakeholders;

  • Development of effective and efficient technical specifications for different land husbandry technologies; #

  • Making cost analysis against investments to ensure that value for money is considered in implementation of land husbandry technologies;

  • Preparation and implementation of education and public awareness programs related to land husbandry aspects;

  • Development and implementation of land husbandry activity plans and
    road map;

  • Production of land husbandry activities status report; Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

    Job Profile

    Minimum Qualification

  • Master of Science in Natural Resources Management; Integrated Watershed Management;
  • Soil and Environmental Management; Water Resources Management; Water and Soil Management; Forestry Ecosystem Management; Community Forestry and Agro forestry with one (1) year of relevant working experience; or

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources Management; Integrated Watershed Management; Soil and Environmental Management; Water Resources Management; Water and Soil Management; Forestry Ecosystem Management; Community Forestry and Agro forestry with three (3) years of relevant working experience.

  • Working knowledge of planting and maintaining turf, water schedules and fertilizers;

  • Results oriented;

  • Digital literacy skills;

  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French. Knowledge of all is an added advantage.
