Job Description

  • Advising land users on plans, challenges related to soil erosion and propose alternative conservation solutions;

  • Development, conducting and participating in surveys, studies on soil erosion control;

  • Provision of information, knowledge, expertise and trainings to stakeholders at all levels to solve water and soil management issues and ensure coordination of resource protection activities;

  • Contribute to compilation, recording and analysis of spatial data related to soil erosion;

  • Facilitating the development of project proposals for erosion control;

  • Investigation on the causes of soil erosion in different catchments and propose adequate control measures;

  • Provision of advisory services to Districts and other stakeholders on the implementation of soil erosion control restoration measures as proposed by CROM_DSS; Development of design specifications in relation to soil erosion intervention measures; Contribution to the update of CROM DSS; Preparation and implementation of education and public awareness programs related to soil erosion control aspects;

  • Development and implementation of soil erosion control activity plans and road map;

  • Production of soil erosion control activities status report; Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

    Job Profile

    Minimum Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Soil and Water Management, Soil Sciences, Soil and Environmental Management, Rural Engineering, Natural Resources Management with one (1) year of relevant working experience; or

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Soil and Water Management, Soil Sciences, Soil and Environmental Management, Rural Engineering, Natural Resources Management with three (3) years of relevant working experience.

  • Digital literacy skills;

  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/or French. Knowledge of all is an added advantage.
