Job description

  • Regularly provide quality information and technical advice on environment and climate change issues and policies through policy briefs, factsheets, article, etc;

  • Organize and coordinate multi-stakeholder environment and climate change thematic working group.

  • Provide technical advice on opportunities and emerging issues related to environment and climate change;

  • Provide technical advice on endorsement of climate change technology to be transferred in all sectors to build climate resilience and low carbon development

  • Provide technical inputs in negotiating and implementing regional and international conventions, protocols and treaties relating to environmental management.

  • Support and guide public and private sector for an effective and fair participation in the MEAs;

  • Initiate cooperation framework with Private sector actors and ensure their regular updates on environment and climate change emerging issues and their capacity building.

  • Lead community mobilization on environment and climate change issues.

  • Liaise with decentralize entities for effective management of environment and natural resources.

  • Coordinate capacity building of national stakeholders on international market mechanisms and cleaning house mechanism related to different MEAs;

  • Identify national investment opportunities in all sectors that are critical to greening the national economy;

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of Green Economy Programs to the national economic development;

  • Integrate in both public and private institutions the best practices of Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP) in
    sustainable planning, urban design, green building and green services

  • Advise on policies driving the development of green economy and consequent implication;

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences

  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Sciences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Management

  • Bachelor's Degree in Climate Change
