Resident Coordinator System Intern - Communications and Multimedia Jobs in Kenya;The intern will support communications, advocacy and coordination for the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Kenya.

The role focuses on multimedia storytelling, event documentation, digital asset management and office support, contributing to the UN Kenya communications work plan and editorial calendar.

Key Responsibilities

Video & Multimedia Storytelling

  • Research and develop story ideas linking SDGs and UN work to Kenya’s priorities.

  • Prepare briefs, scripts, shot lists and storyboards.

  • Film interviews, events and supporting footage.

  • Edit footage into engaging products for web and social media.

  • Add subtitles, captions, graphics, transitions and sound design.

  • Create simple motion graphics and multimedia explainers.

  • Export platform‑specific cuts for UN Kenya channels.

    Events & Field Documentation

  • Support photography, videography and live content production during meetings, events and missions.

  • Coordinate production requirements with colleagues and partners.

  • Assist with joint campaigns and inter‑agency storytelling.

  • Ensure dignified, inclusive storytelling, especially with vulnerable groups.

    Digital Asset Management & Office Support

  • Organize and maintain video, photo, audio and design files.

  • Identify gaps in multimedia archives and prepare assets for future use.

  • Maintain orderly project files and provide source files and masters.

  • Provide related
    communications and coordination support as assigned.

    Qualifications & Skills

  • Completed university degree required (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral).

  • Demonstrable ability to plan, film and edit video/multimedia content.

  • Portfolio or showreel identifying personal contributions.

  • Ability to write clear, concise English for digital/public audiences.

  • Working knowledge of video‑editing applications (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro).

  • Basic understanding of camera operation, composition, lighting, sound recording and file management.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Working knowledge of Kiswahili highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an advantage.
