Resident Coordinator System Associate Data Specialist Jobs in Kenya;The United Nations is seeking an Associate Data Specialist to support the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Nairobi. The postholder will contribute to optimizing statistical efficiency and quality through data engineering, analytics and visualization, while strengthening collaboration with UN agencies, government counterparts, civil society and academic institutions in monitoring the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).

Responsibilities

Data Systems & Analytics

  • Implement databases, data collection systems and analytics strategies.

  • Identify and interpret trends using statistical methods.

  • Acquire, clean and maintain datasets.

  • Develop monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) products.

  • Co‑design digital tools and dashboards with national statistical partners.

    Reporting & Visualization

  • Create reports, dashboards and visualization outputs.

  • Summarize findings for management and stakeholders.

  • Produce newsletters and data products.

    Capacity Building & Support

  • Support UNCT statistical capacity‑building.

  • Deliver training on results‑based management and MEL.

  • Assist national counterparts in reinforcing monitoring and statistical processes.

    Evaluation & Learning

  • Conduct outcome‑level analysis and contribution studies.

  • Integrate monitoring milestones and indicators into common pipelines.

  • Identify gaps in national statistical systems and propose solutions.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Master’s degree
    required • Bachelor’s plus two years’ experience acceptable.

    Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in data analysis.

  • Skills in SQL, Python, R required.

  • Experience in quality assurance of data outputs required.

  • Knowledge of data life cycle and visualization tools desirable.

  • Experience in training and statistical capacity‑building desirable.

    Languages

  • English required • Kiswahili required • French desirable.

  • Teamwork – Collaborative approach and respect for diverse inputs.
