Job Requirements

Overview of Role

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory on a full-time basis.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, which will work with the CEO & COO to implement the factory’s standard operating procedures and food safety standards. The position is flexible in working night shifts and overtime shifts.

Responsibility

Accountable to the Plant Manager of the company, the Production Supervisor’s responsibilities are:

  • Leading successful day-to-day operations of the facility to meet all customer requirements in a safe, high quality, on-time and profitable way.

  • Determining and documenting quality control standards.

  • Working to develop and maintain the highest quality Tahini – in all parameters including taste, texture, and color.

  • Assessing project and resource requirements (for example, matching different tahini profiles to the customers' wants and needs).

  • Planning and organizing production schedules.

  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.

  • Managing both raw materials, packaging materials, and the final product.

  • Consult on hiring the necessary personnel.

  • Monitor the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and to notify when there needs to be a repair or replace the equipment when needed.

  • Manage the production of tahini line and achieving the production targets

  • Quality assurance /food safety management of products and processes in compliance with ISO 22000:2005, IS0 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007, HACCP & BRC/IFS certifications and best practices

  • Training of skilled and unskilled employees for all functions of the Company’s manufacturing facility; Coordination of work schedules

  • Design and implement best practices so that workers achieve consistent production and product quality to match and exceed customer specifications

  • Implement systems and procedures to ensure efficient operation of manufacturing operations of the factory

  • Track and optimize costs

  • Analysis of line performance/efficacy/labor performance and downtime analysis-corrective action plans

  • Maintain all necessary records to ensure effective monitoring of the manufacturing process in the factory

  • Prepare daily production reports and monthly reports and sending them to the direct supervisor

  • Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation

  • Coordinate with all the supporting departments in achieving target efficiency and reducing the cost of operations

  • Provide direction, development, and leadership to factory supervisors and key staff and assist with problem resolution when needed.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, food engineering or equivalent manufacturing managerial experience

  • 5+ years of increasing management responsibilities as a production or plant manager, preferably within a food manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge and certification of food safety procedures and standards such as ISO, HAACP (as stated above) and/or others

  • Experience working in similar factories would be favored

  • Excellent English communication skills; both verbal and written

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet communication

  • Team concept management style (employee empowerment and engagement)

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to measure and monitor production processes to create efficiency- reduce cost, waste, and downtime; eliminate material consumption variances

  • Develop, coach, train, and mentor personnel across all levels

  • Ability to analyze and formulate process flows, identify root cause process breakdowns, and implement process changes, improvements, and corrective actions

  • Develop goals and objectives; monitor and measure with key performance indicators

  • Strong leadership skills- providing clear expectations and responsibilities
