Job Description

Rehabilitation and Development Organization (RaDO) is looking for competent and qualified applicants for the following positions. RaDO is an NGO currentlyworking on the area of Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence (GBV), etc. Currently, RaDO is operational in the Somalia and Sudaneserefugee camps located in Ethiopia.

Job Summary:

The purpose of the Psychosocial Support Officer position is to lead and coordinate the implementation of the counselling, guidance and Psychosocial support activities for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) , families of PWDs and all activities related to Children With Disabilities.

He/She is mainly responsible to ensure that a high standard of counselling/ psychosocial care is provided to PWDs and their families with psychosocial problems.

The Psychologist is also responsible to establishes and maintains effective working relationships with and to provide training on counselling and Psychosocial support to the RaDO staff, PWDs and their families, key partners and NGOs and other community stakeholders.

He /She is also expected to conduct assessments, manage database of the organization, assists the Senior Rehabilitation Project Officer in planning and report compilation and other

related activities. His/ Her assignment is to work with the local and refugee communities.

Duration of the contract: May 01,2019- December 31,2019

Terms of Employment: On contract basis that will be renewed each year

Duty Starting Date- Immediately

Job Requirements

Qualification:

A minimum of BA/BSc Degree in Psychology

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of work Experience

NGO and refugee experience is an asset

Technical Skills:

Computer skills (word processing, spread sheet, etc.);

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to disability, transparent and participatory management.
