Refugee Studies Centre Partnerships Manager Jobs in Kenya;The PPP supports individuals with displacement backgrounds to access career opportunities. It delivers three main interventions:

  • Individualised career counselling for affiliates.

  • A stipended six‑month advanced traineeship combining training and mentorship.

  • Paid external professional placements with values‑aligned employers.

    By 2028, PPP aims to support 110 African displacement‑affected graduates in traineeships and facilitate 130 professional placements.

    Role – Partnerships Manager

    Responsible for managing, expanding and stewarding RLRH’s global employer and institutional partner network to increase professional opportunities for graduates affected by displacement.

    Employers – Partnership Development (40%)

  • Manage relationships with current and prospective employers.

  • Identify and cultivate new employer placement hosts across Africa and globally.

  • Support employers to design and launch refugee‑inclusive placements.

  • Share best practices and success stories with partners.

  • Lead webinars and working groups for employer partners.

    Universities – Labour Pathways (35%)

  • Serve as primary PPP focal point for partner universities, especially within Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.

  • Develop partnership engagement plans to mainstream refugee inclusion.

  • Convene universities individually and collectively to advance transitions agenda.

  • Collaborate with RLRH colleagues in Academic and Research Pillars.

  • Work with Transitions Manager to align placements with Scholars’ profiles.

    Programme Development & Coordination (15%)

  • Contribute to PPP vision‑building, planning and budgeting.

  • Support operationalisation of placements.

  • Contribute to MEL portfolio and data‑driven insights.

  • Monitor enrolment cycles and partner engagement.

  • Provide mentorship to junior programme staff.

    Advocacy
    & External Engagement (10%)

  • Expand advocacy efforts with employer and livelihood partners.

  • Co‑create advocacy strategy amplifying RLRH’s mission.

  • Represent PPP at local and regional fora.

    Selection Criteria

    Essential

  • Experience in partnership development, stakeholder management and widening participation.

  • Familiarity with refugee professional advancement and economic inclusion.

  • Experience in programme development and coordination.

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Success in developing and managing institutional partnerships.

  • Experience with data collection, monitoring and reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Cultural competency and humility.

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10%.

    Desirable

  • Familiarity with Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.

  • Fluency in French, Swahili, Arabic, Amharic, Somali or Oromo.

  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Knowledge of Refugee/Forced Migration Studies, Education or International Development.
