Reeds Africa Consult Solutions Engineer – Project & Mission-Critical Power Sales Jobs in Kenya;The Solutions Engineer is the technical lead in the PowerGen pre‑sales and bid process, turning customer requirements, consultant specifications and tender documents into technically compliant, commercially competitive power solutions. The role carries a dual mandate:

Solutions engineering (all segments): own technical side of bids – sizing, system design, compliance, costing inputs and proposal development.

Mission‑critical project sales: lead opportunities in Data Centres, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial and Education sectors, building company’s position as preferred critical‑power partner.

Job Description

Solutions Engineering & Bid Management

Lead technical response for PowerGen bids.

Perform load analysis, generator sizing and system architecture design.

Review consultant specifications and tender documents for compliance.

Provide accurate BOM and engineering inputs for pricing.

Draft technical proposals and scope documents.

Ensure smooth technical handover to Projects/Execution team.

Mission‑Critical Project Sales & Business Development

Target high‑value sectors (Data Centres, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, Education).

Identify and qualify relationships with developers, EPC/MEP contractors and consultants.

Lead technical qualification of opportunities.

Develop winning strategies emphasizing reliability and redundancy.

Build company’s reputation as preferred critical‑power partner.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Sales Manager and Account Managers.

Interface with Projects/Execution team to ensure design intent.

Provide technical support

to supply chain/logistics teams.

Key Relationships

Internal: Sales Team & Leadership, Project Management & Execution, Engineering & Product Support, Supply Chain & Logistics

External: Customers, Consultants, EPC/MEP Contractors, Developers & Colocation Operators

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience

Proven Solutions Engineer/Technical Sales experience in Power Generation.

Strong mission‑critical power applications experience preferred.

Experience interpreting consultant specifications and tender documents.

Familiarity with generator sizing software and electrical design principles.

Technical Skills

Deep understanding of Diesel/Gas Generator sets, control systems and power distribution.

Knowledge of ISO, IEC, NFPA standards.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools an advantage.
