Reeds Africa Consult Sales Agronomist Jobs in Kenya;; The Sales Agronomist will drive sales and market growth of agricultural inputs and related products by providing professional agronomic advice to customers, agrovet outlets, farmers, institutions and other clients. The role combines technical agronomy expertise with sales and business development, ensuring customers receive the right products and solutions while achieving assigned sales targets and strengthening the company’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
Identify and develop new customers including agrovets, distributors, farmers, institutions and commercial farms.
Grow sales of agrochemicals, fertilizers, seeds, animal health and other agricultural/veterinary products.
Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong relationships.
Prepare quotations, proposals and sales reports.
Follow up on leads, quotations, orders and outstanding requirements.
Monitor customer buying patterns; identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
Support expansion of customer and distribution network.
Agronomic & Technical Support
Provide professional agronomic advice to farmers and agrovet customers.
Recommend appropriate inputs based on crops, pests, diseases and soil conditions.
Guide on product application, dosage, timing, handling and safe use.
Diagnose crop pests, diseases and production challenges; recommend solutions.
Conduct farm visits and field assessments.
Support crop production and protection programs.
Provide technical support on fertilizers, seeds, crop protection, biostimulants and related solutions.
Offer basic support on veterinary products where applicable.
Market Development & Customer Engagement
Conduct product demonstrations, farmer training, field days and education sessions.
Build strong relationships with farmers, agrovet owners, officers and managers.
Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, promotions and customer needs.
Identify new market opportunities and recommend products.
Represent company at exhibitions, trade fairs and farmer events.
Stock & Product Management
Work with warehouse/procurement teams to monitor product availability.
Communicate demand and trends for stock planning.
Monitor fast‑moving and slow‑moving products; provide recommendations.
Ensure products are promoted and communicated correctly.
Support responsible handling and
use of products.
Reporting & Administration
Maintain accurate customer records and sales reports.
Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports.
Maintain updated pipeline and customer database.
Track performance against targets.
Report on visits, market activities, product performance and competitor actions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, Plant Science or related field.
Diploma in Agriculture/Agronomy may be considered with strong sales experience.
Experience
2–4 years’ experience in agribusiness, inputs, agrochemicals, fertilizers, seeds or crop protection sales.
Experience with agrovets, distributors, farmers or institutions desirable.
Proven record of achieving sales targets and developing new markets.
Experience in technical product selling and farmer training an advantage.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
