Reeds Africa Consult Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding Jobs in Kenya; Seeking an experienced and results‑oriented Operations Manager to lead and oversee clearing and forwarding operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, customs clearance, logistics operations, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end‑to‑end clearing and forwarding processes, ensuring timely and compliant cargo clearance.

  • Manage daily operations across imports, exports, and transit shipments.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KRA Customs, port authorities, shipping lines, airlines, CFS operators, transporters, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Ensure compliance with customs, tax, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the operations team to achieve service excellence.

  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement process improvements.

  • Resolve operational challenges and customer escalations promptly.

  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams for seamless service delivery.

  • Manage operational costs while maintaining high service standards.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clearing and forwarding company, with at least 3 years in a management role.

  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures, import/export documentation, and freight forwarding operations.

  • Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships with KRA Customs, KPA, shipping lines, airlines, and other agencies.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Proficiency in customs systems an added advantage.
