Roles and Responsibilities Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operation
Oversees the receiving of goods process – signs off on goods
Hold daily briefings with the support of the Restaurant Supervisor, and Kitchen Supervisor and to communicate branch sales targets.
Identify individual and group learning needs and carry out one on one or group training sessions with team members
Liaising between branch Stock Clerk, Kitchen Supervisor, Bartender and floor supervisor to ensure the restaurant is adequately stocked
Conduct daily restaurant opening and closing duties.
Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints and pass on any escalations to the Operations Manager.
Organize and supervise shifts (create rotas)
Appraise staff performance and provide on the job feedback to improve productivity
Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products
Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
Work with the Floor supervisor and Kitchen Supervisor to train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
Work closely with Restaurant Operations Manager to meet revenue objectives
Oversee the cashier and ensure all end of day reports tally up
Oversee
the bar service and standards
Ensure daily checklists are completed to satisfaction
Communicate with staff regarding changes, outline expectations and review performance
Ensuring that we comply with Health & Safety, City Council, and Fire regulations – flagging any expiry dates to the Operations Manager in a timely manner
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Management and/or Hospitality.
At least 2 years working in a management position in a similar establishment i.e. Bar & Restaurant.
Is personable (good with people) and positive demeanor.
Has keen attention to detail.
Is great at making follow-ups.
Is proactive and high initiative.
Is a dynamic decision-maker in a fast-paced environment.
Is a powerful motivator.
Has great organizational skills.
Is a good communicator
Able to set expectations for supervisors and teams and holds them accountable.
Able to keep calm under pressure.
Is a good delegator.
