Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operation

  • Oversees the receiving of goods process – signs off on goods

  • Hold daily briefings with the support of the Restaurant Supervisor, and Kitchen Supervisor and to communicate branch sales targets.

  • Identify individual and group learning needs and carry out one on one or group training sessions with team members

  • Liaising between branch Stock Clerk, Kitchen Supervisor, Bartender and floor supervisor to ensure the restaurant is adequately stocked

  • Conduct daily restaurant opening and closing duties.

  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction

  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints and pass on any escalations to the Operations Manager.

  • Organize and supervise shifts (create rotas)

  • Appraise staff performance and provide on the job feedback to improve productivity

  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products

  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it

  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste

  • Work with the Floor supervisor and Kitchen Supervisor to train new and current employees on proper customer service practices

  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations

  • Work closely with Restaurant Operations Manager to meet revenue objectives

  • Oversee the cashier and ensure all end of day reports tally up

  • Oversee
    the bar service and standards

  • Ensure daily checklists are completed to satisfaction

  • Communicate with staff regarding changes, outline expectations and review performance

  • Ensuring that we comply with Health & Safety, City Council, and Fire regulations – flagging any expiry dates to the Operations Manager in a timely manner

    Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Management and/or Hospitality.

  • At least 2 years working in a management position in a similar establishment i.e. Bar & Restaurant.

  • Is personable (good with people) and positive demeanor.

  • Has keen attention to detail.

  • Is great at making follow-ups.

  • Is proactive and high initiative.

  • Is a dynamic decision-maker in a fast-paced environment.

  • Is a powerful motivator.

  • Has great organizational skills.

  • Is a good communicator

  • Able to set expectations for supervisors and teams and holds them accountable.

  • Able to keep calm under pressure.

  • Is a good delegator.
