Job Description

  • To manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the construction project

    Responsibilities

  • Reviewing construction drawings and preparing quantities

  • Takes part in the tendering process and ensure official documentations are captured

  • Reviewing of all submitted bill of quantities

  • Prepares reports, contracts, budgets, risk assessments and other documents

  • Negotiate with external sub-contractors and suppliers

  • Budget preparations and cash flow projections

  • Preparation of financial models based on the bqcostings

  • Negotiating contracts

  • Documenting any design change and updating the budget

  • Keep track of all the requisitions, goods received at the site and goods issued to contractors

  • Attend site meetings and prepare minutes
    Feasibility studies

  • Project valuations

  • Projects re-evaluation

  • Financial projections

  • Contract preparations

  • Project cost controls

  • Final accounts

  • Valuation reports

  • Valuations and re-measurements

  • Preparation of construction contracts (reviewed & approved by HoC& legal departments)

  • Preparations of bills of quantities

  • Sourcing construction materials

  • Sourcing for quotations

  • Payment for work done on site

  • Interim Payment Certificat

    Requisitions

  • Quality checks on submitted samples by contractors

  • Technical and reporting training for Site managers

  • Material control

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field

  • 2-3 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience,
    construction experience, or related field

  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results

  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports

  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills

  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

  • Numeracy

  • A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software

  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to work in a team

  • The ability to negotiate

  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
