QuickCare Clinics and Wellness Centre Pharmacist Jobs in Uganda
Pharmacists are responsible for aiding customers by compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications, providing pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals, monitoring customers’ drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications, and providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Issue stock items and prepared prescriptions
Collect prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements
Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimizing wastage
Ensure that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions.
Ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintain the temperature control record/logbook
Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
Deal with queries from patients regarding their prescriptions.
Handling controlled drugs (and keeping register).
Assist in stock checks
Education and Experience
Degree in Pharmacy required.
Three years’ experience needed.
Experience
using MS Windows, Microsoft Outlook and MS Office packages, in particular Excel and Word.
Hands-on experience with data entry into online databases and forms. Personal Skills
Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
Able to maintain confidential information
Strong customer service ethic and abilities
Self-motivated to perform routine tasks independently and meet deadlines
Good verbal and written communication skills
