Role Summary:

A functional consultant bridges the gap between business process and technology. They act as a liaison between the technical team and business stakeholders, translating business requirements into practical solutions. Their expertise is vital in achieving successful system implementations that align with the organisation's objectives.

Qualifications /Certifications required:

  • Qualifications in developing and implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
    would be advantageous.

    Experience required:

  • Experience in performing fit/gap analysis between business requirements and out-the-box functionality.

  • Experience in documenting and communicating the high-level solution design.

  • Experience in supporting testing and end user training based on knowledge of
    the solution.

  • Experience in delivering at least one Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation
    through the entire project life cycle.

  • Solid experience with implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.

    Responsibilities of role:

  • Driving requirements definition and assessing fit to D365 solution (F&O).

  • Documenting, proposing, and discussing solution options part of the programme team (high level design / low level design).

  • Providing advice during the implementation cycle, including configuration, and
    customisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  • Working with third party providers to translate requirements and design to ensure solution build is in line with expectations.

  • Providing functional consultant delivery support across all phases of the programme including testing, business change, data migration, and cutover.

  • Understanding business requirements and changes to guide the solution and highlight any impact on integrated solutions or the teams.

  • Providing SME input across a variety of programme workstreams, including
    testing, training, data, reporting, and business change.

  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop tools, approaches, and delivery plans.

    Desirable skill sets include:

  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the
    programme team, third parties, and clients.

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O in terms of the out-of-the-box functionality and solution constraints.

  • Understanding of business transformation programmes, not just technology or software implementations.

  • An understanding of relevant business processes (e.g. finance, sales, purchase to pay, warehouse management for finance) and some experience in effective to-be processes.
