PSC Senior Principal Instructor (KIHBT) Jobs in Kenya

Qualifications for appointment

Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Principal Instructor, KIHBT, CSG 8 or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service

Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Construction Plant Engineering, Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Building Construction, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
OR
Technician II and III (KNEC) Certificate in the relevant field

Higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Construction Plant Engineering, Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Building Construction, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Training of Trainers Certificate lasting not less than four (4) weeks or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Registered by the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) as a Certified Engineering Technician OR registered by any other relevant professional body

Demonstrated merit and ability in administration of practical training programmes and staff development

Duties and responsibilities

Coordinate preparation of work schemes

Instruct trainees in the area of specialization

Coordinate preparation of course materials and schedules

Coordinate and develop practical training courses/programmes relating to the relevant area of training

Coordinate development of instructional materials

Coordinate design of machines, tools, equipment and technical training aids used in the instructional field

Coordinate evaluation of progress and overall performance of trainees

Coordinate design of practical training courses/programmes relating to the relevant area of training

Prepare and plan maintenance schedules

Guide on instructional methods and processes

Monitor and evaluate training programmes

Supervise instructors and laboratory technicians
