Job Description

I. Background

In line with the UNAIDS global goals of 90-90-90. As part of supporting this effort, Project HOPE with funding from PEPFAR through USAID Ethiopia collaborated to implement Community HIV Care and Treatment Activity (CHCT).

The Project implementation will be through various Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) with experience of implementing HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support activities in Ethiopia.

II. Purpose of the consultancy

The program has different SBCC materials, modules, provider support tools to have a seamless implementation of activities. This materials are developed by the technical team at different levels, but are not standardized with regards to graphics design.

III. Scope of the assessment

The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. The consultant will do graphics design for the materials provided by central project HOPE team.

IV. Time frame

For 20 working days

V. Major tasks /activities of consultant

Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements

Creating images and layouts by hand or using design software

Testing graphics across various media

Participate in briefing meetings regarding the materials content with

CHCT technical team of Project HOPE

Submit details schedule;

Graphics design for SBCC , provider support tools and modules

Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

Meet with CHCT team to review and discuss draft designs and amend designs after feedback

Incorporate comments and finalize the designs

Provide both editable and JPEG versions of the designs

Work on other graphic related assignments given by supervisor during the contract period

Major Deliverable:

Detailed schedule of deliverable

Designed SBBC materials, modules and provider support tools

Results provide both in editable and JPEG form

Other graphics design requested by supervisor

Job Requirements

First degree in Design, Fine Arts, information technology, architecture or any related field

At least 5 years practical experience in the field relevant to the role
- Training in Graphics design

Has working experience in graphics design for health related materials

Able to demonstrate a strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Photoshop and others)

A keen eye for aesthetics and details

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
