Kikuyu Water Company is a Water Company operating in Kiambu County and fully owned by the County Government of Kiambu.
Kikuyu Water Company has the following vacancy that they would wish to fill;
Procurement Officer
One Position
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinating the implementation and or review of the Company’s policies and procedures, and in particular, the Company’s procurement policy;
Assisting in the development of the company’s procurement plan in accordance with statutory and company expectations;
Advising the company’s staff on appropriate procurement and bid evaluation procedures;
Advising on procurement of various goods, works and services in accordance with the Company’s Procurement policies and procedures.
Assisting in the review and update of Company procurement policies in accordance with the needs of the Company and align to the relevant laws.
Maintaining and updating the procurement records including files, supplier/contractor databases, contract documents, orders and other correspondence as required;
Receiving approved requisitions, prepare and dispatch local purchase and service orders (LPOs and LSOs) as needed for provisions and follow up to ensure timely delivery;
Ensuring quality products and services are sourced and supplied at the best prices and on time;
Assisting in the preparation of bidding and contract documents;
Procuring goods and services efficiently and ethically;
Ensuring effective control and monitoring of goods and services and monitor stock costs;
Developing sound partnerships with suppliers, clients and key stakeholders;
Demonstrating expertise in leadership and management.
Requirements for Appointment:
Holds a diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management or equivalent qualification. A Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or its equivalent will be an added advantage;
Minimum of four (4) years’ relevant working experience;
Membership of a professional body (KISM);
Good knowledge of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2016 and Regulations;
Familiarity with donor procurement procedures
will be an added advantage;
Be proficient in computer; and
Have a demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results.
