Privatization Commission Deputy Director, Information and Communication Technology Jobs in Kenya

Role Objective

Ensure the Authority adopts and implements effective strategies for ICT infrastructure deployment, service delivery, business continuity, disaster recovery, and information security.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate development and implementation of the Authority’s ICT Strategy, policies, and procedures.

Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure.

Formulate and develop the Authority’s information infrastructure.

Plan, monitor, and evaluate ICT programmes and activities.

Oversee implementation of MIS, ERP, Document Management System, and Customer Management System.

Spearhead design, development, and maintenance of telephony, messaging systems, and intranet.

Deploy infrastructure to support business continuity and disaster recovery.

Safeguard information assets by ensuring integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

Implement secure portals for stakeholder interaction.

Lead website maintenance.

Oversee outsourced ICT service providers.

Monitor security systems including firewalls, antivirus, CCTV, and UPS.

Oversee repair of ICT equipment and peripherals.

Oversee configuration and testing of hardware, networking software, and operating systems.

Guide creation of ICT Helpdesk system to track user requests.

Oversee creation of users in Active Directory per laid‑out policies.

Requirements for Appointment

Master’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Business IT, or

equivalent from a recognized institution.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Business IT, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Relevant ICT certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CISA, CISSP, Prince2, or equivalent.

Membership in a relevant professional body (where applicable).

Certificate in Management course lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution.

Cumulative service period of 15 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years at Assistant Director, ICT or comparable position.
