Privatization Commission Assistant Director, Corporate Communications Jobs in Kenya



Role Objective

  • Coordinate development and implementation of the Authority’s corporate communication and customer service functions.

  • Execute communication strategies, manage media relations, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and promote the Authority’s brand, image, and visibility.

  • Facilitate effective communication between internal and external stakeholders to support achievement of the Authority’s mandate and strategic objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development and implementation of corporate communication policies, strategies, and plans aligned to organizational goals.

  • Guide preparation and management of the communication department’s budget.

  • Coordinate implementation of corporate social responsibility programmes.

  • Manage media relations and inquiries to protect and enhance the Organization’s image.

  • Lead planning and management of corporate events including conferences, seminars, and public engagements.

  • Guide creation of high‑quality content for various platforms ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.

  • Champion public relations campaigns and outreach efforts to enhance visibility.

  • Coordinate internal communication strategies to ensure effective flow of information.

  • Implement quality management system procedures for conformity and efficiency.

  • Oversee development, implementation, and review of the Authority’s strategic plan, vision, mission, and objectives.

  • Guide establishment and strengthening of collaborations with Government agencies, development partners, private sector, and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate formulation, monitoring, and review of annual budgets, procurement plans, performance contracts, and annual reports.

  • Supervise coaching, mentoring, and development of staff to foster a high‑performing workforce.

  • Coordinate risk management policies and frameworks to ensure accountability and business continuity.

  • Guide development and review of the Department’s Citizen Service
    Delivery Charter.

  • Foster corporate culture that upholds ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and good governance.

  • Oversee development and implementation of corruption prevention and mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate implementation of corporate governance principles, national policies, and directives.

  • Manage public complaints resolution, information access requests, and public awareness initiatives.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Media, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Media, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution.

  • Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing (where applicable).

  • Cumulative service period of 12 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years at Principal Communications Officer grade or comparable position.
