Private Members’ Club Procurement Officer Jobs in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client is a private members’ club located in Nairobi.

They seek to hire a procurement officer charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the club purchase quality goods at competitive prices and professionally handling all procurements.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing efficient and effective procurement management systems in accordance to the Club and Government procurement regulations and policies;
  • Planning, implementing and reviewing the club’s annual procurement plan
  • Working with the procurement sub-committee and the management in developing and reviewing the club’s procurement plans and ensuring that decisions of the Procurement Committee are implemented
  • Ensuring that all departments adhere to the procurement plans
  • Developing and reviewing the procurement manual
  • Up-dating the list of approved suppliers
  • Responsible for the procurement of works, goods and services for all departments in the Club according to the Club procurement regulations and public procurement regulations;
  • Ensures that procurement is done in a timely manner within the Club and Public Procurement and Disposal Act and Regulations;
  • Preparation of annual tenders and pre-qualification of suppliers;
  • Advising the management on procurement matters;
  • Coordinating the preparation of procurement plans for all the departments within the Club;
  • Certification of payment to suppliers;
  • Carry out market research in order to obtain information containing the prevailing conditions on the supply market;
  • Inventory and stock control
  • Custodian of local purchasing orders and local supply orders;
  • Taking receipt and custody of samples;
  • Give feedback to both successful and unsuccessful bidders;
  • Establishing reliable and credible source of goods and services for the Club;
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and streamlining of delivery systems
    to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction;
  • Make reports to the top management on behalf of the procurement unit;
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records; and
    Hold negotiations with supply sources on behalf of the Club concerning the materials and services that they intend to procure where applicable.
  • Secretary to the Procurement Committee; preparing the agenda for the procurement sub-committee meetings and ensuring implementation of this sub-committee’s decision

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies
    Recognized professional qualifications in procurement such as CIPS
  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • Minimum experience of 3 years.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Good communications skills
  • Commercially astute
  • Excellent coaching and people manager skills
  • Good knowledge in IT
  • Be a team player
  • Have good interpersonal relationships
