PricewaterhouseCoopers Senior Associate – Financial and Grants Management Jobs in Kenya; The Senior Associate will support delivery of donor‑funded programmes and consulting assignments, focusing on fund management, grant administration, financial oversight, and institutional strengthening. The role involves project coordination, financial advisory, risk assessments, and capacity building for governments, NGOs, and development partners.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Delivery & Project Management
Support delivery of consulting assignments and donor‑funded programmes.
Develop workplans, budgets, and resource plans.
Track progress, risks, and deliverables.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Prepare progress reports and client deliverables.
Fund Management & Grant Administration
Support design and operationalization of donor‑funded financing instruments.
Assist in developing governance structures and fiduciary controls.
Manage end‑to‑end grant processes (application, appraisal, contracting, disbursement, monitoring, close‑out).
Review budgets and funding requests.
Monitor fund utilization, cashflows, and financial forecasting.
Prepare financial reports and dashboards.
Ensure compliance with donor regulations and procurement requirements.
Financial Advisory & Public Financial Management
Support advisory engagements on governance, expenditure management, and institutional strengthening.
Conduct financial assessments and reviews.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting frameworks.
Undertake financial analysis and modelling.
Develop financial policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
Risk & Compliance Assessments
Conduct fiduciary risk assessments and due diligence reviews.
Assess governance structures and internal controls.
Support anti‑fraud and compliance reviews.
Identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Monitor corrective actions from audits and reviews.
Technical Assistance & Capacity Building
Provide technical assistance to governments, NGOs, and partners.
Support institutional strengthening programmes.
Implement financial management systems and digital reporting solutions.
Deliver training, workshops, and coaching sessions.
Facilitate peer learning
and stakeholder forums.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development
Engage with government agencies, NGOs, and development partners.
Facilitate workshops and consultations.
Prepare proposals and pursue consulting opportunities.
Conduct market research and develop thought leadership.
Skills & Competencies
Strong financial advisory and accounting skills.
Experience in fund management, grant administration, and donor compliance.
Analytical and problem‑solving ability.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Integrity and professional judgement in managing donor funds.
Proficiency in financial modelling, ERPs, and analytics.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, International Development, or related field (Mandatory).
Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA) strongly preferred.
Additional certifications in project or grant management an asset.
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial advisory, accounting, fund management, or development consulting (Mandatory).
Experience in donor‑funded programmes, governance structures, and compliance.
Proven track record in grant‑making, disbursements, and reporting.
Experience with governments, multilateral/bilateral partners, NGOs, or professional services firms highly desirable.
