Postbank ICT Officer/Application Development & System Analyst Jobs in Kenya
About the Role
Responsible for building, customizing, integrating, and maintaining applications, systems, and interfaces that support the Bank's digital platforms, business operations, and internal processes.
Provides technical guidance on software solutions and evaluates applications used across the Bank.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements and design, develop, test, and implement software solutions.
Monitor the operational efficiency of existing applications and recommend improvements.
Customize and implement acquired software to support automated business processes.
Assess user requirements and determine system design feasibility within time and budget constraints.
Modify and enhance existing applications to correct errors, improve performance, and support new technologies.
Ensure application controls are incorporated during software design to mitigate risk exposure.
Conduct regular testing to verify functionality, security, and performance requirements.
Respond promptly to application-related security incidents.
Work with vendors to implement business systems and monitor existing applications.
Verify the integrity and availability of applications through continuous monitoring and log reviews.
Design, develop, and implement business applications in accordance with the Bank's software development standards.
Train users and prepare user documentation during system implementation.
Perform system integrations and upgrades in collaboration with consultants and vendors.
Develop and maintain integrations with partner systems.
Support the Bank's digital delivery channels.
Maintain application availability and reliability to meet service delivery objectives.
Participate in gathering and analyzing business requirements for outsourced solutions and systems.
Ensure proper testing of all application changes before deployment to production environments.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least 3 years' relevant work experience at the level of ICT
Officer II or a comparable position.
Bachelor's Degree in:
Information Technology
Computer Science
Business IT
Software Engineering
ICT Project Management
Computer Engineering
Or another relevant field
Professional certification or demonstrated expertise in:
Java
PL/SQL
JavaScript / JQuery / AJAX
Object-Oriented PHP
Python
HTML5/CSS3
Adobe Creative Suite
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of:
JSON
XML
SQL
Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), including:
Oracle
Microsoft SQL Server
DB2
Knowledge of JEE platforms and Linux environments.
Ability to facilitate technical discussions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Understanding of application security, system integration, testing, and software development best practices.
