Partner with us! PSI’s Nairobi Global Services Hub is seeking a Systems Administrator responsible for maintaining PSI Global Services Hub, Nairobi’s workflow, and keeping its lines of communication open.

This will include the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and occasionally modifying network infrastructure including designing, testing, and installing to support business systems.

This role is also responsible for writing documentation to describe the custom configuration of systems and operating procedures in liaison with third-party service providers.

You’ll need to manage workloads and deadlines efficiently with limited supervision in a busy environment. You’ll report to the Manager, Global IT, and be a member of the Global services hub, Nairobi Operations team.

Your contribution The Systems Administrator will:
• Design, configure and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, and firewalls), and network printers and maintain optimum performance levels.
• Manage software applications (active directory, e-mail systems, anti-virus, web server, internet access, and office applications support including systems backups and restorations).
• Ensure implementation and maintenance of security standards, procedures, and guidelines as per the Global IT standards.
• Install, configure, and maintain server systems that support the running of business systems and services and conduct regular system audits.
• Maintain an inventory of all IT resources (hardware and software) including license management.
• Manage the telephony and other communication infrastructure in liaison with 3rd party consultants.
• Provide ERP support to all users on WAN and LAN including liaison with external service providers to meet required service levels.
• Maintain proper documentation of all software licenses, system procedures, and configurations.
• Manage and provide helpdesk assistance and advice to business users in the
effective use of applications and information technology including induction of new users.
• Manage assigned IT projects according to agreed-upon budgets and schedules while also overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
• Assessment, development, and optimization of all power protection and backup systems for network, servers, and end-user units to ensure permanent availability of systems and data before proper shutdown procedures apply.
• Sharing regular IT operation system reports with senior management and support in the IT budgeting process.
• Planning and execution of IT training programs and staff upskilling sessions on various productivity tools.


What are we looking for? We are looking for a highly ambitious individual with a passion for Information Technology in a demanding position. In particular, we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in networking, computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience
• 3 years of experience in Systems Administration or relevant technology field
• Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Requires prior experience working with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure active directory, Endpoint manager, and supporting various productivity tools.
• Fluency in English is required.
