Responsibilities:

Logistics Management

  • Help improve efficiencies within the Logistics function of PSI South Sudan. Ability to track, communicate and cost effectively manage the movement of commodities from the time a PO is raised to the time the goods reach Central Medical Stores.
  • Help streamline a clear Logistics cycle to attain mission goals and objectives in a cost effective manner.
  • Effective communication at each supply chain stage and level will be a key a performance indicator by ensuring transporter compliance with PSI policies or procedures for commodity transit or delivery.
  • Monitoring commodity import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements at both national and international import/export legislations.
  • Implement inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, tax exemption or logistics quality management with the supervision of the senior procurement and supply chain officer
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or health commodities to the last mile
  • With the supervision of the senior procurement and supply chain management officer, keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Prepare and file logistics certification applications
  • Help modify the existing Logistics policy if need arises.

    Inventory Management

    Ensure effective systems are in place to track Inventory from the point of receiving, storage, dispatch of health commodities at Central Medical Stores (CMS) and at partner or distribution level.

    Tracks inventory movement and details to the health facilities or until possible disposal level.

  • Maintain accurate records
    of all planned and accomplished out-going shipments.
  • Management of current and old Organizational records
  • Support the SPSCM with stock management tasks while stock remain in stores.
  • Participates in warehouse stock verification exercises at CMS and accurate record keeping of issuance and receiving documents for submission to Finance for posting in QBE
  • Evaluate and process requisitions, paying close attention to detail and vetting authorized signatures.
  • Continually maintain and enhance healthy, safety and security of the stored commodities and personnel in and around the warehouses
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports for the SPSCM review and onward submission to the PSM Manager
  • Any other related duties as assigned

    Our needs
  • At least Diploma in the either Purchasing and Supply, Material Management and Administration, Business Administration with two (2) years of experience in large logistics and inventory management in an international Non-Governmental Organization
  • Proven proficiency in operating Microsoft Office suite- Ms Excel, MS Word and MS Power point and Quick Books Interactions;
  • Experience and knowledge of Global Fund procurement Procedures
  • Strong analytical skills and numerical accuracy.
  • Professional training in CIPS is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all Levels including department and sections heads.
  • Previous procurement and supply chain management, warehousing and logistics experience in South Sudan a plus;
  • Minimum two years developing country work experience;
