We are looking for an audio record transcriber who will be is responsible for quality transcription of local language audio records to English.

He/she will transcribe different
audio records of in-depth interview, key informant interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs). He/she will maintain all procedures of quality verbatim transcription.

Essential Functions

You will work under the direct supervision of the researcher/program staff, in close collaboration with the research/program team. More specifically, you will:

  • Transcribe an exact record of the audio record of key informant interviews, in-depth interviews, FGDs and other recordings from different local languages to English;
  • Review and proofread transcripts and records to ensure the accurate use of language and verifying spelling;
  • Conduct quality transcription as per the audio records;
  • Properly manage audio records;
  • Ensure confidentiality of audio records and hard copies.
  • Comply with instructions by the supervisor and coordinator/researcher.

    Your background

    What are we looking for? The basics

  • BA/BSc or above in Health, Literature or other Social Science fields with at least 5 years of audio transcription experience.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and other local languages

    What would get us excited?

  • Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills in English and knowledge of at least more than one local language is preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good team spirit.
  • Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail.
