Platinum Outsourcing and Logistics Container Shipping Operator Jobs in Kenya

Job Purpose

To support the Transport Department by coordinating shipping documentation, monitoring freight movements, and ensuring timely dispatch and delivery of cargo in freight forwarding operations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate shipping documentation to support efficient transport operations.

Prepare, verify, and maintain documents (DOs, CIRs, EIRs, waybills, manifests, gate passes, PODs).

Manage container interchange activities, ensuring timely collection, delivery, and return.

Monitor container and shipment movements to minimize detention and demurrage costs.

Verify container condition during collection and return; escalate damages or discrepancies.

Liaise with shipping lines, depots, transporters, port authorities, customs, customers, and internal teams.

Maintain accurate shipment and container movement records.

Reconcile PODs and interchange documents to support invoicing and reporting.

Investigate and resolve shipment and documentation discrepancies.

Prepare routine transport and shipment reports in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Key Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of freight forwarding and transport operations.

Understanding of container interchange procedures

and documentation.

Familiarity with shipping and transport documentation requirements.

Road transport operations and fleet coordination.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport, logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding operations.

Experience managing shipping documentation and container interchange processes highly desirable.
