Responsibilities

  • Implement in a gender responsive manner the objectives of the Afya Pwani project
  • Ensure that interventions are planned and implemented for maximum impact, synergy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Together with key project stakeholders, organise regular performance review meetings to assess progress and agree on and communicate any changes in strategy.
  • Ensure Plan’s Policy on Gender Equality, Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct are adhered to in project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with established targets and quality of project outputs.
  • Ensure proper management of project database, records and files.
  • Coordinate with other staff on resource allocation/mobilization and information and ensure that appropriate synergies with others are achieved as it relates to implementation of multiple projects in the same areas.
  • Develop and regularly manage Afya Pwani annual and quarterly implementation plans and budgets.
    Prepare breakdown/s of project budget by interventions
  • Monitor expenditures by interventions and ensure compliance with approved budget
  • Ensure timely budget adjustments and revisions in compliance with USAID regulations.
  • Timely preparation and submission of accurate financial reports according to donor regulations

    Qualifications

  • Public Health (Nurse, Public Health, Medical Doctor) professional with postgraduate qualification. Equivalent field experience may be considered in lieu of post graduate qualification
    Minimum six (5) years’ experience in MNCH/FP programmes
  • Understanding of operations/ action research desirable
  • Proven experience in project cycle management and managing a team including performance management and coaching.
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health. Experience working with partners in a consortium is desirable.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability for social change desirable
    Practical experience and understanding of the community health strategy
  • Experience of training and capacity building staff
  • In-depth knowledge of social determinants of health and health inequality and health advocacy
    Culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Commitment to fully adhere to Plan’s Child Protection Policy

    Responsibilities

  • Contribute to regional and global leadership of the AOGD and particularly Asian sub-strategies covering VSLA and entrepreneurship, ICT4V, scaling up, funding strategy and organizational sustainability;
  • Contribute to development and revision of standardized M&E systems to generate common performance indicators which demonstrate meaningful impact and contribute to the region’s strategic direction;
  • Contribute to the development of tools which identify appropriate local employment sectors with sufficient demand for the skills that have been acquired; developing strategy and tools for identification and selection of suitable local training and business partners; ICT4V tools to compliment and enhance traditional face to face teaching methodology, develop cost-effective scaling up model and
    develop mechanism for following the alumni etc.;
  • Documentation is accessible and disseminated internally and externally through user-friendly and user-oriented channels;
  • Developed evidence base, incorporating research, baseline studies, mid-term and final evaluations of YES projects, specifically those funded by ANO and others implemented in the ARO region;
  • Strategic and operational partnerships established at country, regional and global levels:
  • Country and partner organizational capacity will be assessed and action plans developed to address knowledge and skills gaps;
  • Enhanced reputation of Plan as a leading practitioner and stakeholder in Youth Employment Solutions by donors, businesses and communities of practice;
  • Plan International representation at national, regional and international forums.

    Qualifications

  • Demonstrated managerial or senior level technical advisory expertise in the design, implementation and evaluation in education for employment/livelihoods
  • Experience in the development of workable guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrated facilitation and training experience
  • Influencing, representational and advocacy skills
  • Excellent communication skills operating at a distance and across a wide variation in cultures
  • Excellent command of English, both speaking and writing and prior experience in writing donor proposals and reports

    Plan NGO Counter Fraud Specialist Jobs Opportunities in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Provides training on fraud awareness, prevention and investigation to all staff.
  • Undertakes,supervises supports and reviews fraud investigations when assigned
  • Assists in loss recovery actions
  • Ensures that key services are delivered efficiently and meet business needs
  • Reviews systems for the management of fraud and makes recommendations for change and improvement
  • Conducts analysis on fraud risk exposure and reviews procedures to mitigate the risk
  • Supports fraud reporting and monitoring mechanisms across Plan
  • Produces reports as required by the Head of CFU and makes recommendation for change

    Qualifications

  • Excellent demonstrable knowledge in the field of counter fraud
  • Aware of current best practices in investigation techniques
  • Awareness of global standards and legislation around fraud and corruption
  • Understanding of the role and approaches of the international development sector
    Skills
  • Excellent investigative ability with proven track record
  • Experience of crime/loss prevention
    Analytical skills
