Plan International Video / Filmmaker Jobs in Nigeria; Under the GAC-funded ASPIRE project, and as part of its SBCC strategy, Plan International Nigeria intends to engage a consultant with strong creative and technical capacity to produce compelling, youth-friendly video content. These films will be used to influence attitudes and behaviours, particularly among adolescents and young people, while showcasing SBCC as a critical pillar of the project’s overall approach.
Key Responsibilities Deliver end-to-end SBCC-focused short films/drama content under the ASPIRE Project, including concept development, scripting, production, post-production, and coordination
Concept Development:
Develop SBCC-focused concepts, scripts, and storyboards aligned with ASPIRE Project goals and objectives
Ensure content is adolescent-friendly, gender-responsive, culturally sensitive, and contextually relevant to Bauchi and Sokoto States
Integrate SRHR and life skills themes (puberty, menstrual health, consent, healthy relationships, life skills, access to adolescent-friendly services)
Video Production:
Produce short/medium-length films for community dialogues, adolescent sessions, and digital platforms
Ensure ethical, safe, and meaningful participation of adolescents in line with safeguarding standards
Post-Production:
Edit videos with sound design, Hausa-to-English subtitles, graphics, and branding per Plan International Nigeria guidelines
Deliver final outputs suitable for online and offline SBCC use
Incorporate feedback from Plan International Nigeria and ASPIRE stakeholders
Coordination & Reporting:
Work closely with Brand and Communication team
and programme staff
Submit draft and final products within agreed timelines
Provide a brief production report documenting process and lessons learned
Alignment with SBCC Themes:
Ensure all final products align with Aspire project’s 13 SBCC thematic areas (SRHR, prevention of harassment, menstrual hygiene, child marriage, positive masculinity, spousal communication, safe spaces, VSLA impacts, etc.)
Ensure alignment with Plan International Nigeria’s strategic priorities (Gender Equality, Child Rights, Education, Health, Youth Empowerment, Livelihoods)
Required Skills and Equipment
Skills:
Strong visual storytelling and video editing skills
Experience in development/humanitarian contexts (gender equality, child rights, education, health, youth, livelihoods)
Excellent interviewing, listening, and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of ethical communication, safeguarding, and consent protocols
Effective planning, organisational, and time management skills
Proficiency in video production and post-production tools (camera, audio, editing software)
Added advantage: scriptwriting, storyboarding, or content development for SBCC, advocacy, or social media campaigns
Equipment:
Reliable laptop/workstation with updated video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
High-quality video and audio recording equipment (cameras, microphones, audio recorders)
Secure data storage solutions (external drives, cloud platforms)
Stable internet connection for uploading large files, collaboration, and timely submission
