    NILINDE PROJECT
    Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) for Nairobi and Coast Counties of Kenya, is a USAID-funded $41 million Cooperative Agreement awarded to a consortium led by Plan International. Known locally as the Nilinde Project, this five-year initiative aims to improve the welfare and protection of the most vulnerable households affected by HIV/AIDS by reducing economic vulnerability and empowering households to make investments that will improve the health and well-being of OVC. The Project operates in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale and Taita Taveta counties.
    We are inviting applications for the following positions in Nilinde Project:

    Responsibilities

  • Conducts review of operation in all program areas and operating units to determine weaknesses and other risk areas,
  • Prepares and submits review reports on identified weaknesses and risk areas with the recommended control measures,
  • Conducts review of partners’ implementation of project and assesses whether such implementation is in accordance with the provision of the Partnership Agreement, Work and Financial Plan, other good practices and adequacy of key controls;
  • Follows up compliance with the recommendations as agreed during the summary meetings.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Other related courses.
  • Professional licensure preferred.
  • Relevant training on auditing standards and techniques; risk-based audit and internal control evaluation and risk assessment.
  • Has three years’ experience in internal and external auditing. Experience working with an international non-government organization is an advantage.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • This role requires extensive travel. Must have the ability to adapt to cultural context.

    Plan International NGO Regional Project Coordinator Jobs Vacancies in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee and Coordinate Project Implementation at the regional level
  • will primarily be responsible for leading a portfolio of implementing partners at the designated regional level and supporting the work of County Coordinators (field staff) to ensure optimal project implementation in line with project design and award, approved annual work plans and work priorities.
  • Management of County Coordinators (CCs): Effective management of CCs and the work they do thus ensuring excellence in implementation at SDP and LIP level supported by a robust field monitoring plan with agreed upon targets and time frames;
  • Service delivery partners (SDP) portfolio management;
  • Data use for Decision and information use (DDIU): Ensure CCs diarize and provide reports of all SDP level feedback meetings attended, finding synthesized and that programmatic issues are escalated in a timely manner;
  • Site Improvement Monitoring System
  • Provide oversight to CCs to ensure that they submit high quality reports that feed into the quarterly report to
    USAID and to aid internal reflections that inform identification of emerging
  • Synergy, Communication and Coordination: Foster and maintain effective and professional relationships with and between all project staff, partners and stakeholders;

    Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in either public health, Social Sciences with a bias towards Project Management or other relevant discipline.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in child-centred programming and preferably community based OVC programming, capacity building and/or grants making programs.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in institutional capacity building especially for civil society organizations and capacity in grants making programs
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in capacity building, mentorship and/or training of teams and adult learning facilitation skills.
  • Experience in USG funding & specifically familiarity with USAID Rules and Regulations; systems and procedures and performance based funding highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing complex, huge dollar budgets and multi-sectoral projects & multiple-partners (including government and civil society).
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English and Kiswahili to meet the diverse technical and managerial support requirements of the project partners.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively without the need for close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and with remote teams.

    Plan International NGO Team Leader Health & HIV/AIDS Jobs Vacancies in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Mentor and supervise the Health/HIV/AIDS team to implement an evidence-based package of services and support that will promote family-centered, age appropriate, quality services to households affected by HIV.
  • Coordinate training and technical assistance to implementing partners to support the expansion of community and household level interventions to increase utilization of health and HIV/AIDS services.
  • Monitor project implementation, policy guidance, and emerging research across the sector to identify and lead continuous quality improvements.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports, case studies, and other publications to showcase project lessons, and results to contribute to the wider sector and institutional knowledge.
  • Ensure activity implementation achieves planned results, document developmental impacts and resolve any implementation issues in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations.
  • Manage and monitor Health/HIV/AIDS budget; monitor expenditures against approved budget to ensure quality standards, compliance with donor requirements and regulations; and maximize impact.

    Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Public Health, or other related field.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in supporting community based programming with a bias towards orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and HIV programming.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current guidance on HIV, maternal and child health, and adolescent health programming.
  • Experience building partnerships, networking, and collaborating with Government of Kenya, County Governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead technical capacity building of local implementing partners to deliver appropriate, reliable and sustainable services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities for implementing family-centred approaches in a community setting.
