Role Purpose

    Accountabilities and MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES

    Strategic Leadership and Implementation (30%)

  • Develop Supply Chain, Admin and ICT strategy and operational plan aligned to PIE’s five years country strategic plan

  • Develop/ Adopt/ Review systems and procedures related to Supply Chain, Admin and ICT services throughout Plan Ethiopia.

  • Identify, manage and mitigate risk including fraud and corruption

  • Contribute to the broader departmental leadership as part of the department’s management team

  • Provide productive input in the development and/or review of Supply Chain Strategy at GH or regional level as may be required

  • Ensure departmental risks are identified, mitigated and managed adequately including fraud and corruption

    Management and Oversight (30%)

  • Ensure the department’s operation is conducted in line with the organization policies, procedures and standards as well as donor rules and regulations

  • Ensure policies and procedures are adequately rolled out

  • Ensure training and capacity building is provided to PIE staff and Local Partners

  • Ensure quarterly reports on logs and admin including environment reports are done to the regional office and IH and share learning.

  • Lead and ensure Plan Ethiopia is effectively supported administratively with general office needs, which includes work permits to international staff, lease agreements for offices, maintenance and operation of the office is taken care effectively, and other admin tasks.

  • Monitor departmental performance and take actions when needed so that objectives are met (either continuously or on time when relevant)

    Team Management (15%)

  • Recruit, grow and retain staff, performance management, including coaching, monitoring, capacity building, creating positive and enabling working environment

  • Initiate and lead different capacity development initiatives to
    the staff members including best practice and experience sharing

  • Create a positive working environment in which continuous improvement, service-mindedness, transparency and open communications are key values.

  • Supervise and manage performance of direct reportee.

    Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

    Qualifications/ Experience Desirable

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management

  • Certification in ICT

  • Training and capacity building would be an advantage

  • Experience in international supply chains and custom regulations would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of the humanitarian sector trends and constraints would be an advantage

    Languages Required

  • Fluency in English language is essential

  • Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable

  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects within timeline and budgetary constraints across functional areas

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment

  • Proven leadership skills in building and managing large teams

  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills are required
