  • In our over 16 years operation in Ethiopia, has focused on projects in five main areas of interest: Education and Social protection, Environment, Livelihood and Agriculture, Water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Emergency programs.

  • PIN currently invites Internal and External applicants for the position of: Field Cashier for the two different specific projects entitled

  • Multisectoral life-saving response to the acute needs of the most vulnerable IDPs and returnees in Guji and West Guji zones, Oromia, Ethiopia”

    Job Description

  • The Field Cashier is responsible for organizing and coordinating field level payments of the projects.

  • in order to ensure smooth implementation of activities and effective and efficient utilization of projects’ resources for intended purposes.

  • Field Cashier is a person who manages office and field payments, provides financial
    support (payments and data encoding e.t.c) to PIN’s finance coordination Office which is important for performance of projects because of timely implementation of planned activities and appropriate utilization of resources.

    The Field Coordinator specific tasks are

  • Collect petty cash from the bank in accordance with security rules and upon signed approval (PAF).

  • Issue payment, advances and advance clearances only upon proper documentation is received with all necessary approvals and signatures.

  • Manage cash transaction only if it is recorded to Database.

  • Prepare physical cash count on weekly bases on Fridays before closing office hours
    send via email a soft copy of cash count excel to Cashier / Accountant on weekly bases on Fridays before closing office hours
    Record data to Database based on the checked, complete and proper documentation.

  • Record all transaction within cash box into Database prior the payment is issued.
    Prepare published Cash Payment Voucher if needed.

  • Prepare Database cash count checking and compare it with physical cash on weekly bases as mentioned above.

  • Prepared the tax summary on monthly bases and pay taxes

  • issue the contribution of staff’s PE/PF prepared on monthly bases

  • support financial and project staff with minor tasks and request on regular bases
    support Logistic/procurement unit by facilitating payment

  • Send evidence of all financial documents taken over by finance department on weekly bases to Hawassa finance unit and have copy of some important documents like copy of bank statement, copy of settlement, copy of payroll properly and confidentially.

  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma in Accounting and Finance Accounting, Business management and other related fields of study

  • Minimum 2(Two) years of work experiences on the position.

  • NGO experience is advantageous

  • Good written communication and report writing skills

  • Good command of MS Package (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

  • Knowledge of spoken & written Amharic, English and spoken local language Oromifa and Gedeofa is advantageous
