Position Summary

The incumbent candidate will be tasked with coordinating HIV Testing Services (HTS) activities at the County, Sub-County, facility and community levels in collaboration with the County Department of Health and other stakeholders to ensure achievement of the 1st 90 of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS’s) 90:90:90 goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to County, Sub-County and facilities in implementation of HIV testing and linkage services.
  • Provide technical support and regularly update HTS service providers on guidelines and support them to adhere to standards and protocols.
  • Ensure that all protocols and Government guidelines are always adhered to in all the facilities.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and on job training (OJT) to health care providers and community health volunteers (CHVs) on the HTS algorithm per the National Guidelines.
  • Ensure implementation of quality assurance/control activities like proficiency testing across supported Counties.
  • Supervise and coordinate HTS Providers supported by the Afya Pwani Program.
  • Conduct regular counselor supervision to HTS providers.
  • Schedule and conduct facilities visits, monitor progress and prepare sites visit reports.
  • Collaborate with Lab and Commodity Management Advisors to ensure adequate supply of Rapid Test Kits (RTKs) in the county.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc program reports and/or dashboards forward the same to the HTS and Linkages Manager.
  • Undertake program supervision, monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any social sciences or an equivalent.
  • Training in Voluntary HIV counseling, Adherence Counseling, Couple Counseling and Community HIV counseling and testing required;
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in providing and managing HIV Testing and Counseling Services;
  • Up to date with latest developments in HIV Prevention programming in general;
  • Good community mobilization skills;
  • Ability to prioritize work according to importance and deadline while meeting conflicting work demands;
  • Possesses initiative, patience, tact, and able to work with minimum supervision;

    Position Summary

    Pathfinder International Kenya is looking for a candidate with excellent technical skills to fill the role of Technical Advisor HIV/TB to coordinate HIV/TB activities at the County, Sub-County, facility and community levels in collaboration with the County Department of Health and other stakeholders to ensure achievement of the 90:90:90 targets;

    Responsibilities

  • Provide support to County, Sub-County and facilities in implementation of HIV/TB services in order to achieve the 90:90:90 targets.
  • Provide technical support and regularly update HIV/TB service providers on guidelines and support them
    to adhere to standards and protocols.
  • Ensure that all protocols and guidelines are adhered to in all the supported facilities.
  • Conduct capacity building activities to health care providers like continuous medical education (CMEs), mentorship, coaching and on job training (OJT) on HIV/TB services per the national guidelines.
  • Provide clinical HIV/TB services to clients on a regular basis.
  • Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives in HIV/TB service areas.
  • Collaborate with health workers to implement robust defaulter identification and tracking systems for HIV/TB services.
  • Supervise and coordinate Afya Pwani supported medical officers, clinical officers, nurses, mentor mothers and community health volunteers (CHVs) in supported facilities.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine or related course.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in providing and managing HIV/TB services.
  • Up to date with latest practice and policies in HIV services.
  • Good program management and monitoring skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work according to importance and deadlines while meeting conflicting work demands.
  • Be proactive, patient, tact, and able to work with minimum supervision.

    Pathfinder International NGO Field Assistant Jobs Openings in Kenya

    Position Summary

    Pathfinder International Kenya is hiring five (5) mentors/caseworkers who will be based in Mombasa County. The position will focus on supporting adolescent’s girls and young women (AGYW) in the County.

    Responsibilities

  • Participate in community mobilization and sensitization on the Program.
  • Recruit and enroll the most at risk AGYW in schools and out of school into the Program.
  • Establish safe space groups for AGYW in Schools and out of schools;
  • Case management of AGYW and assessing risk factors of each adolescent girl and young woman, making case treatment plans and executing them promptly;
  • Deliver Evidence Based Interventions (EBIs) in health education, financial education and GBV prevention training content to AGYW in safe space groups;
  • Work with other Program staff to refer and link AGYW to appropriate services including post GBV care, reproductive health and other services;
  • Deliver sustainability through building a cascading leadership model, in safe space groups;
  • Initiate and strengthening guiding units within the communities;
  • Identify and report success stories and most significant change;
  • Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) meetings with Afya Pwani staff and case workers.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum Higher/ Diploma qualifications in social science, community development, public health or relevant diploma and/or experience managing community development programs with emphasis on HIV and home based care.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in HIV prevention programming;
  • Training of Trainer skills;
  • Good community mobilization, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet etc;
  • Ability to prioritize work per importance and deadlines while meeting conflicting work demands;
