Position Summary

Pathfinder International Kenya is seeking to recruit a program officer who will be based in Mombasa county. The position will be anchored within the Afya Pwani program and seeks to ensure the delivery of services to adolescent’s girls and young women in the county. The incumbent will initiate and provide services in safe spaces s/he will ensure that evidence based interventions (EBI) sessions targeting adolescent girls and young women are successfully implemented as per the required standards. S/he will lead the mentors and community owned resource persons to provide the packages to the young people and ensure that the same is timely and reported as per the project’s USAID/President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS and Relief (PEPFAR) requirements.

Pathfinder International NGO Program Officer Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

  • Management of field assistants including follow up of scheduled interventions to achieve maximum impact.
  • Providing leadership in the Program through co-ordination and supervision of program activities and staff in the Program.
  • Planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating program activities including writing technical reports.
  • Managing activity budgets including processing relevant financial requests and accounting of resources.
  • Developing and promoting partnerships and networking with relevant stakeholders including and not limited to County government, relevant government of Kenya ministries and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  • Facilitating capacity building activities for the program implementation team, community structures, County Health Management Team (CHMT)/Sub-County Health Management Team (SCHMT) and other stakeholders.
    Representing the program in technical committee’s county and Sub-County level in relation to program technical areas.
  • Coordinating sensitization workshops and advocacy sessions for community leaders and other stakeholders in collaboration with partners.
  • Reviewing the routine monitoring and evaluation data of the implementing partners in priority communities.
  • Support the manager and the monitoring and evaluation teams in conducting mapping.
  • Leading the development/adoption of relevant SBC materials to support DREAMS field activities.
  • Providing leadership to program staff in documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Providing regular follow-up and supervisory support to ensure quality of program in priority communities.

    Qualifications

  • At least a university degree in social science, counselling psychology or related field. A Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of urban non-formal environment is particularly recommended.
  • Previous experience in implementation of DREAMS interventions is highly preferred.
  • The Programme officer will have at least 3 years’ experience of working closely with government departments at the county level in implementation of health interventions.
  • The officers must demonstrate high level competence’s in working with teams to achieve results through establishment of informal networks as well as working with groups.
  • Previous experience in building capacities of volunteer workforce and beneficiaries on EBI’S is particularly recommended. Trainers in EBIS will have an added advantage.
  • They are responsible for submission of high quality reports at the program management level.

    Pathfinder International NGO Program Manager Jobs in Kenya

    Position Summary

    Pathfinder International Kenya is looking for a candidate to fill in the role of Program Manager who will report to the Senior Technical Advisor for Outreach Services.

    Responsibilities

  • Managing
    various program staff to ensure the smooth implementation of the day to day schedule interventions.
  • Engage with communities, ministry of health and like-minded institutions for effective linkages and coordination.
  • Training of staff, community owned resource persons and beneficiaries as per the appropriate Evidence based interventions (EBIs) per cohort.
  • Budget management and development of financial request to facilitate implementation of activities and ensure accountability of the same.
  • As advised by the senior technical advisor for outreach services; develop, adopt and deploy various service delivery tracking tools and resources for effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
  • Liaise with M&E teams to undertake mapping and tracking of program deliverables as well as effective documentation of the same.
  • Mobilize community resources including and not limited to safe spaces and work with community structures to deliver services to the target populations.
  • Document best practices
  • Development of high periodic quality reports for the interventions.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or any related field. A Master’s degree in related field will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years post-graduate working experience, with at least three-years progressive management experience in a USAID funded Program.
  • The preferred candidate will have previous experience in implementing program interventions.
  • Control Program (NASCOP) approved evidence based interventions (EBIs) focusing on adolescents and young people.
  • The individual must demonstrate ability and knowledge on the proper of use of data to generate reports and evidence based program management, cohort tracking and data use for improved decision making.

    Pathfinder International NGO Technical Advisor Jobs in Kenya

    Position Summary

    Pathfinder International Kenya is looking for a candidate with excellent technical skills to provide as the prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) Technical Advisor to coordinate PMTCT activities at the County, Sub-County, facility and community levels in collaboration with the County Department of Health and other stakeholders to ensure elimination of mother to child transmission (eMTCT) of HIV in the County.

    Responsibilities

  • Provide support to county, sub county and facilities in implementation of eMTCT services.
  • Ensure that all protocols and Government guidelines are always adhered to in all the supported facilities.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, continuous medical education (CMEs) and on job training (OJT) to health care providers, mentor mothers and CHVs on EMTCT services per the National Guidelines.
  • Ensure HIV Testing Service (HTS) services are provided and offered to all Antenatal Care (ANC), Maternity, child welfare clinic (CWC) and post-natal clients.
  • Ensure 100% linkage to ART of all pregnant, breastfeeding women and infants living with HIV in Afya Pwani supported facilities.
  • Support viral load monitoring and early infant diagnosis (EID) for mother-baby pairs as per national guidelines.
  • Ensure access to and provision of the correct prophylaxis regimen for all HIV exposed infants (HEI).
  • Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives in MNCH and PMTCT service areas.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine (An advanced degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in providing and managing PMTCT services.
  • Good program management and monitoring skills.
  • Possesses initiative, patience, tact, and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet etc.
