Job Description

  • HR Business Partners at PATH work in a coordinated effort to implement PATH's people strategy and facilitate the delivery of innovative HR practices. These roles advance PATH's mission through effective partnering with leaders and staff and leveraging HR expertise to influence business decisions in their regions.

  • This HR Business Partner role will report to the HR Director, Africa, and will support PATH teams in the East Africa region.

    Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and implementing established HR strategies, policies, and practices.

  • Guide and support employees and managers across the employee life cycle.

  • Consult with employees and managers on employee relations issues to ensure appropriate procedures are followed in alignment with organizational standards and local labor law

  • Provide consultation to managers on talent development, performance management, employee relations and labor law compliance.

  • Serve as local and regional point of contact for compensation and benefits, participate in policy development and implementation.

  • Serve as point of contact with local legal counsels and benefits providers with oversight from HR Director, Africa.

  • Compile and share HR metrics and market data.

  • Perform transactional duties where
    needed.

  • Implement and reinforce PATH risk and compliance strategy and practices.

  • Ensure that hiring and employment practices follow organizational and local standards

  • Recommend, manage, and conduct training on topics ranging from HR policies and procedures to professional and leadership skill development

  • Manage a team of regional HR generalists and oversee work in multiple countries

  • Contribute to building a shared understanding and commitment to making PATH more diverse, equitable and inclusive in the region.

  • Co-create a culture of feedback, open and honest communication.

    Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of ten years' HR work experience

  • A track record of bringing a solution-oriented approach to working with clients to address the wide range of challenges required in a HR Business Partner role including talent management, leadership and employee coaching, employee relations, training, and development

  • Demonstrated skills building and managing strong partnerships with program teams and serving as a strategic advisor on HR matters in the region.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage the uniquely differentiated HR role while working effectively in a client team environment.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working efficiently, productively, and with urgency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven group facilitation skills.

  • Cultural agility.

  • Ability to move initiatives forward and communicate effectively while managing multiple constituencies.

  • Ability to write professional policies and procedures in English.

  • Interpersonal, organizational planning and analytical skills.
