Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of the Uganda ICAN program.
  • Lead and provide expertise in developing and executing sustainable, integrated practices.
  • Facilitate dialogue with all levels of government, including working at the district and community level.
  • Ensure the effective use and coordination of USAID resources and the compliance of the financial systems and controls with USAID standards
  • Lead internal and external program planning and reporting, including annual work planning with sub recipients.
  • Develop and manage a team that includes members of diverse backgrounds in order to successfully co-create and implement a sustainable integrated design.
  • Ensure sound financial management including programmatic budgeting, spending projections, and monitoring of payments.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the project to USAID.

    Requirments

  • A Master’s degree international development, livestock, agriculture, economics, or related field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten (10) years or more progressively responsible international work experience implementing multisector development programs with demonstrated strong management and coordinating skills.
  • At least five years of management experience including direct supervision of professional and support staff and assembling teams working on multi-faceted international development programs.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills
  • Demonstrated skills in effectively working with government counterparts in the cooperating country, USG donors, and other key stakeholders and partners.
  • Fluency in English is required.

    PATH is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the upcoming Uganda Integrated Community Agriculture and Nutrition (ICAN) program funded by USAID. The DCOP should have significant leadership and management experience. The DCOP will work closely with the Chief of Party (COP) and provide complementary support to the COP in terms of strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial management of the program. This will be a contract position pending award from USAID.

    Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation, implementation and oversight of action plans, annual work plans progress reports, PMPs and budgets.
  • Monitors project implementation
    against plans and budget.
  • Under the leadership of the COP, supervises all administrative and financial activities, and knowledge learning/sharing activities.

    Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required in either international development, agriculture, economics, public health, nutrition, or related field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible work experience in managing or implementing development programs preferably in Africa.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct all project financial, operational and administration management functions.
  • Ensures that the appropriate financial systems are set up in compliance with PATH policies and USAID standards.
  • Oversee finance, human resource management, logistics, procurement, administration and information technology support to the project, requesting direction from NCBA CLUSA headquarters (HQ) as needed.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of monthly financial statements (including expenses, receivable, and payables).

    Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in professional financial analysis, accounting or auditing, preferably with an international organization or accounting firm.
  • Familiarization and on-the-job training on US Government accounting, USAID Financial management.
  • Previous experience managing USAID contracts
    Knowledge of USAID financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing will be required.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the collection of quality data by standardizing tools, processes and methodologies;
    Conduct routine data quality assessment and train M&E personnel in checking for accuracy, completeness, relevance, and timeliness.
  • Manage project’s M&E database;
  • Work closely with the COP and project staff to review program performance and propose adjustments;
  • Guide and ensure the highest quality of program monitoring, evaluation, reporting and communications;

    Requirements

  • A Master Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, statistics, economics or related area of study or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of monitoring and evaluation work at the supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, nutrition and systems monitoring and evaluation preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English.
