Responsibilities

Purpose of Role

  • The services, job functions and responsibilities (“Scope of Work”) that the Employee will perform shall include, but are not limited to:
  • Carry out technical analysis that support execution of projects technical activities
  • Organize, coordinate and support HP+ workshops to build advocacy capacity of selected county champions to augment advocacy work at the county level to advocate for more resources for heath and HIV/AIDS
  • Facilitate and support hosting of meetings, training workshops on resource tracking tools and advocacy under regional work, and EAC Regional Policy validation meetings
  • Support the MOH to convene inclusive ICC-HF meetings to discuss and build consensus on the draft Kenya Health Financing Strategy and also support to convene Health Sector Inter-Governmental Forums to facilitate policy dialogue between the two levels of governments
  • Participate and guide the health sector at national and/or county levels in preparation of annual plans and Program Based Budget (PBB) as required under the Public Financial Management Act, 2012.
  • Support the enhancement of collaboration of EAC regional governments health secretariat and other partners to strengthen capacity of government’s high level advocacy skills for increased health sector allocation including HIV and AIDS to mitigate reduced donor funding threat;
  • Provides assistance to others on matters related to topic area of health financing related research and evaluation and applies relevant methodologies to programmatic issues of importance
  • Prepares health financing analyses, recommendations, briefing notes, and assessments for internal and client use.
  • Represents the company with others in the professional community and in the regional countries.
  • Provide facilitative support to short-term local consultants assigned to
    work on project’s activities
  • Represents the projects, company, and programs in the health financing area in Kenya and regional forums, as well as with others in the professional community and in countries of collaboration independent of technical supervision
  • Participates in the preparation of bids and proposals in response to government, foundations or other donor solicitation as requested by the company or supervisor
  • Conducts all work to accepted standards of research ethics
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned


    Qualifications


  • Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, political science, social or development studies, project management or related field;
  • A masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level as project/programme officer in a donor funded programme;
  • Hands-on experience in report writing, analytical pieces desirable;
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages and handling of web based management systems.
  • Fluency in English
