  • Oyominto TV, Your No.1 Gusii TV Station, informing you on the what is happening in in Nyamira,Kisii County Kenya and around the world. Oyominto TV, Egetacho ki`amang`ana Amanuke .

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collection of information, carrying out interviews, fact-checking and submitting stories within set deadlines during assignments.

    • Following news leads and maintaining close and effective contact with news sources such as press conferences, beat, live events etc

    • Ensure New stories are well balanced, properly presented, free of error and in line with laid down editorial policy and house style of Oyominto TV.

    • Carrying out research and collection of background information required to make stories complete, topical, informative, credible and analytical and compliant with journalistic ethics.

    • Following news leads, building relationships and maintaining close and effective contact with news sources.

    • Exceptional knowledge of news, current affairs and discussions, in particular stories that appeal to Oyominto TV audience.

    • Ability to work within established rules, regulations, policies and practices of Oyominto TV

    • Identify areas of improvement/development in daily news reporting and making appropriate recommendations to the Editor by writing reports.

    • Ensuring there are no cases of libel and or defamation in stories filed or prepared for
    transmission by following legal and copyright requirements asking for clarification from managers in times of doubt.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Diploma in Mass Communication, Degree in a Communication, Journalism or related degree from a recognized institution.

    • 2- 3 years of relevant working experience.

    • Ability to translate from English toGusii or vice versa will be an added advantage.
