    If so, you are the person we’re looking for to be our Head of Humanitarian Campaigns

    This post is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to Oxfam’s humanitarian campaigns, and for the management and implementation of these campaigns to achieve agreed campaign objectives.


    The post holder will achieve this through close working relationships with the worldwide campaign assembly,operational team and other team members, senior staff at national level in priority countries and regions, humanitarian directors and campaign leads in Oxfam affiliates, heads of Oxfam’s other three worldwide campaigns,and others as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Campaign leadership and coordination:

  • Provide overall leadership, vision, management and strategic guidance to Oxfam’s humanitarian campaigns.
  • Ensure achieving transformation change for women living in poverty is at the heart of all humanitarian campaigns.
  • Oversee development of popular campaigning and ensure humanitarian campaigns are people powered where appropriate.
  • Lead and support on definition and development of strategic priorities and objectives within a coherent, time-bound and achievable campaigns plan.
  • Chair the Campaign Assembly and lead the Operations Team and project manage the development and implementation of campaign activities.
  • Manage Oxfam International humanitarian campaigns team to ensure high standard of leadership, coordination, accountability and delivery
  • Ensure consistency, quality and brand risk management of humanitarian campaign products through approval and sign-off processes as well as participation in crisis response meetings (when necessary/requested).
  • Represent the campaign externally at a senior level with agreed allies, targets and media.
  • Participate in and lead key processes (cross campaign planning, strategic planning, annual campaigns budgets, emergency response management teams etc.), to further campaign priorities and ensure adequate investment in humanitarian influencing.
  • Contribute to Oxfam’s campaigning and humanitarian vision, strategy and development through contributions to the Influencing Platform, Humanitarian Platform and cross-campaigns leadership team.
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation processes around campaign objectives including evaluating progress toward incorporating women’s rights and gender justice in campaign priorities, activities and impacts.
  • Lead collaboration with other Oxfam campaigns to ensure integration between campaigns and alignment with Oxfam’s brand.
    Integrated campaigning and programming and Worldwide Influencing Network implementation:
  • Working with program colleagues, including the Global Humanitarian Team, ensure coherence of campaign with program strategies and working with social movements and civil society, steer resources to place national campaigns in the southern hemisphere at the centre of humanitarian campaigns.
  • Work directly and through team members with staff based in regions to support national campaigns and their links to worldwide initiatives.
  • Coordinate with thematic program leads to ensure program campaigning integration including supporting teams to deliver on organizational commitment to increased local humanitarian leadership.
  • Public Engagement:Oversee design and ensure delivery of fundraising strategy of the campaign working with digital campaigns and regional teams as well as the public and institutional fundraising teams.
  • Work with Public Engagement and campaigns staff to ensure a holistic approach to engaging supporters and public around the world.

    Key Competencies:

  • Experience of working on and dedication to delivering transformation women’s rights.

  • Experience in integrated approaches to advocacy and campaigning including research, policy, lobbying, media work, fundraising, communications and popular campaigning.
  • Strong team building, coordination, project management and relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including high level presentation and media experience.
  • Experience of successfully working with alliances.
  • Knowledge of,and commitment to humanitarian principles
  • Knowledge of conflict and peace/security issues desirable
  • Experience in,or knowledge of humanitarian programming desirable.

    Person Specification:

  • Ability to think and operate strategically, flexibly and creatively
  • Outstanding campaign leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong management skills,and experience of managing teams based in multi-locations virtually
  • Able to lead through influence.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, supportively,and work cooperatively in a cross-cultural setting
  • Fluency in written and spoken English essential. Other languages, particularly French,Spanish,or Arabian advantage
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure with limited supervision
  • Willingness to travel up to 12 weeks/year
