Oxfam NGO GROW Campaign Coordinator Kenya Jobs

The Oxfam International Secretariat is currently headquartered in Nairobi, with offices in Oxford, Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.


Responsibilities

General coordination for Oxfam GROW team

  • Support the Head of Campaign to develop annual operational plans, multi-year
    frameworks and inputs for other Oxfam strategic processes.
  • Support the Head of Campaign to monitor multi-year or operational plans and maintain
    a campaign calendar.
  • Coordinate the GROW Operational Management Team and, where necessary, other
    GROW working groups, including face to face meetings.
  • Design and run consultations with teams across Oxfam.
  • Liaise and work with other campaign coordinators (Even it Up, Enough and
    humanitarian) to increase links and provide support across each campaign when there
    are gaps.

    Project coordination support for priority campaigns

  • Work with a project lead to manage project timelines, budgets, ensuring delivery of
    campaign plans to time and budget
  • Devise and oversee a simple documenting system including taking occasional from
    meetings
  • Manage internal communications for this project
  • Other tasks as agreed with the project lead

    Support the GROW campaign to increase impact on women’s rights

  • Working with the Head of Campaign, provide support to specific projects or teams to
    integrate women’s rights in campaign planning and design – this could include carrying out
    research or analysis
  • Guide GROW working groups / project teams to use gender analysis tools
  • liaise with OI Gender Advisor to help implement plans to better integrate gender across all functions of campaigning

    Lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) for the campaign

  • Leading on MEAL for the GROW campaign through design, oversight and
    implementation of MEAL frameworks or tools for the international campaign.
  • Ensure the campaign fulfils its reporting responsibilities to OI (6-monthly and annual
    reports)
    and to external donors.

    Lead internal communications and external digital communications for the campaign

  • Maintain and improve effective internal GROW campaign communications for the
    confederation, ensuring excellent information flow across GROW countries/regions/affiliates/teams as well as other parts of the confederation.
  • Manage the online presence of GROW on OI FB channels, including devising
    strategies, writing content and responding to public enquiries.
  • Other tasks as agreed with the Head of GROW.


    Skills and competencies


    Essential

  • 2-3 years experience of campaigning, including strong digital campaigns literacy.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications.
  • Excellent project management experience.
  • Basic financial literacy.
  • Knowledge of planning, monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Knowledge of project management systems.
  • Highly organised, strong admin skills, an eye for detail and timeliness.
  • Highly effective working in virtual teams and with diversity.
  • Demonstrates creativity and initiative.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and to work fast under pressure.
  • The capacity to persuade and motivate others to deliver on agreed tasks
  • Demonstrable interest in public campaigning as well as research / policy
  • Passion for women’s rights.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Capacity to undertake international travel, possibly at short notice.

    Desirable

  • Knowledge of issues relevant to the GROW campaign – women small scale producers,
    food security, land, climate, agriculture and value chains
  • Demonstrable understanding of working in civil society in the south
  • Other languages an advantage, particularly French and Spanish.
