Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis is the entry and training grade for this cadre.
An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
The specific Duties and Responsibilities entail:
Monitoring the progressing of cases and making recommendations for improvement where necessary;
Conducting legal research on a wide variety of issues;
Drafting position papers and draft legal opinions on a wide variety of legal issues;
Representing ORPP in court matters ;
Drafting responses, submissions and legal briefs for ongoing matters in the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal;
Drafting of legal publications and subsequent gazettements;
Preparing sectional reports on the activities of the legal services department; and
Drawing up and amending contracts/drafting of legal documents; and
Legal representation for
Bachelors of Laws degree (LLB) from a recognized institution;
Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law; and
Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Terms of Service
The successful candidate will serve on pensionable terms.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to present originals of the following documents:
National identity card or passport;
Academic and professional certificates and transcripts
Any other relevant supporting documents and testimonials;
Clearances from the following bodies to demonstrate compliance with Chapter (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:
Kenya Revenue Authority;
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
Higher Education Loans Board;
Any of the Registered Credit Reference Bureau; and
Directorate of Criminal Investigations
