The Open Institute, a nonprofit organization that works to build the capacity of communities, seeks to hire a program manager to help designs and facilitate community-level programming, provide tailored technical assistance services, and offers a range of support to community groups and funding organizations by supporting the Global Goals for Local Impact (GGLI) program.

About Open Institute: The Open Institute was established by in 2012 to promote Open Government in Kenya and globally as well as to experiment and develop ways to promote citizen engagement and participation.

The founders of the Open Institute have been at the forefront of Kenya’s ICT development since 2006 when they led the citizen process of the development of Kenya’s ICT policy.

In May 2011, the duo led the process of the establishment of the Kenya Open Data Initiative (Al Kags was the Chair of the taskforce). Since the establishment of the Open Institute, we have worked towards the strengthening of citizen engagement practices in Kenya.
