One Acre Fund Tupande Quality Assurance Specialist Jobs in Kenya;Lead the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and BRCGS/FSSC certification to open premium export markets for macadamia. Responsible for audit readiness, corrective actions, root cause investigations, coaching the food safety team, and ensuring compliance from raw material receipt to final product dispatch.

Responsibilities

Food Safety Team Leadership

  • Appointed Food Safety Team Leader.

  • Establish, implement, maintain and update FSMS.

  • Manage and organize food safety team work.

  • Ensure training and competencies of team members.

  • Report FSMS effectiveness to top management.

    System Verification & Hazard Analysis

  • Verify flow diagrams on‑site and maintain records.

  • Conduct hazard analysis to determine control measures.

  • Plan and implement validation/verification of controls.

  • Evaluate FSMS results at planned intervals.

  • Ensure 100% maintenance of FSMS (BRC, FSSC, Kosher, Halal, Kephis).

    Communication & Audit Management

  • Communicate FSMS objectives and track achievements.

  • Ensure monitoring of CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs.

  • Close gaps/NCRs from internal/external audits.

  • Build QA/EA capacity for raw material receiving and factory processes.

    Training & Quality Processes

  • Train teams on sampling and analysis.

  • Maintain efficient feedback loops for QC processes.

  • Support operations to ensure final product compliance.

    Culture
    & Compliance

  • Spearhead food safety culture awareness.

  • Manage product analysis, swabs and hygiene monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with bi‑weekly factory meetings and timely escalation.

  • Collaborate with department heads to enhance factory operations.

  • Optimize deliverables and cost efficiency.

  • Implement drying controls to ensure 20MT NIS available daily.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science.

  • Knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRCGS.

  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

  • Strong analytical skills for root cause investigations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Teamwork champion for FSMS implementation.

  • Effective time management to meet quality standards.
