One Acre Fund Tupande Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Specialist Jobs in Kenya;Tupande Soko is seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer with 3–5 years’ experience to execute electrical maintenance, automation troubleshooting, and instrumentation repairs across all factories. The role ensures reduced operational downtime and supports continuous processing operations.

Responsibilities

Hands‑on Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Execute electrical repairs and wiring calibrations on critical machinery.

  • Troubleshoot complex electrical faults, control panel failures, and circuitry issues.

  • Diagnose, maintain, and program automated control loops, VFDs, sensors, PLC inputs/outputs, and instrumentation.

    Preventive Maintenance & Instrumentation Care

  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules and calibration routines via CMMS.

  • Test distribution boards, manage load balancing, and inspect safety relays and heating arrays.

  • Maintain logs of component changes, modifications, and power quality metrics.

    Machinery Focus & Technical Verification

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems embedded in factory machinery.

  • Maintain electrical components on industrial dehydrators, macadamia sorting lines, and biochar controls.

  • Ensure correct specifications for machines, spare parts, and consumables.

    Workforce Mentorship & Electrical Safety

  • Mentor safe repair and testing techniques with operators and staff.

  • Deliver training on autonomous maintenance checks for electrical controls.

    Ensure Safety & Food Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safe systems of work (permit to work, LOTO, confined space).

  • Maintain HACCP‑required equipment records for food‑contact assets.

  • Champion zero‑harm safety culture; conduct safety walks and close hazard reports.

    Qualifications

    Technical Skills

  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics.

  • Active technical registration/licensing to perform electrical works in Kenya (EPRA/DOSH preferred).

  • Hands‑on fault‑finding and root cause analysis on industrial plant equipment.

  • Experience troubleshooting automated components, heaters, dehydrators, and macadamia processing controls.

  • Ability to utilize CMMS software (SAP PM, Maximo, Limble, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring single/three‑phase motors, and configuring instrumentation.

    Knowledge

  • Food safety management systems and HACCP requirements.

  • Kenyan electrical and occupational health and safety laws (OSHA, DOSH).

  • TPM or World Class Manufacturing principles.

  • Kenyan regulatory environment for food manufacturing (KEBS standards).
