The Procurement Coordinator secures value for money through supplier management, market research, and negotiation, while ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation, and clear coordination with internal teams.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & Market Research Conduct market research to source goods and services at best value.
Expand and reinforce supplier database.
Assess market price trends and report financial savings.
Eliminate middlemen by building direct partnerships with upstream suppliers.
Purchasing & Negotiation
Manage end-to-end purchase cycle (RFQs, supplier evaluation, selection, purchasing).
Negotiate competitive pricing and payment terms.
Coordinate with Finance team for timely supplier payments.
Support broader procurement goals through category management.
Deliveries and Stakeholder Communication
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Collect and submit procurement documentation accurately.
Provide proactive updates to internal clients on requests.
Systems, Processes & Catalog Excellence
Support procurement planning with internal teams.
Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure clarity and standardization in purchase requests.
Manage Zambia Vendor Catalog (data entry, contact maintenance, quarterly audits).
Streamline catalog by eliminating inactive vendors.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
Fully registered and valid practicing license from Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
Minimum 3+ years in procurement roles.
ERP proficiency (SAP or similar system).
Deep understanding of Zambian market and procurement regulations.
Core Skills & Competencies
Strategic negotiation skills to influence vendors.
