Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests.

We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

We are growing quickly. We currently serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

About the Young Professionals Program

One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization.

Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund's operations.

When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. Job Description

One Acre Fund is looking for a technical software specialist to assist with analysis of enterprise grade software systems.

One Acre Fund must select very large third party systems such as customer relationship management, enterprise relationship management, point of sale, help desk, workflow Management, and SMS/USSD systems in order to improve operation of our business. We are looking for someone to

  • Perform market research of third party software providers
  • Perform analysis of software industry trade reports
  • Analyze third party software capabilities
  • Contact third party software vendors to establish relationships, gather capabilities, and schedule demos.
  • Create software selection reports to senior management
  • Assist in creating enterprise architecture roadmaps based on selected third party system.

    Qualifications

    We are seeking an exceptional candidate with strong educational experience and a lot of enthusiasm for learning new skills and enjoy solving problems! No prior experience is required and candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Citizenship in Kenya or Rwanda – you will be asked to submit a copy of your passport, biodata page or your national ID card.
  • Exceptional recent college graduates or young professionals with Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering are encouraged to apply.
  • Leadership experience at work, or outside of work.
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the relationship between enterprise grade CRM, ERP, POS, and helpdesk systems.
  • Understanding of software system analysis, development, and implementation
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office and Google tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to engage with staff.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Language: English required. Other notable and useful languages are Swahili, and Kinyarwanda.

    Compensation

    Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. Rural area based fellows will be provided assistance in locating suitable housing.
